Both companies are hailing the acquisition of Evergreen Helicopters by Erickson Air Crane as a “win-win.” Erickson CEO Udo Reider says the move expands the company’s worldwide reach. Evergreen founder Delford Smith says the $250 million deal enables him to pay down the company’s $276 million debt.
Evergreen has a fleet of 64 aircraft and employees 400, including about 100 in McMinnville. It’s expected those jobs will remain there, and will expand employment at Erickson’s repair and maintenance and heavy lift facility in Central Point.
