  1. The big conflict between the Bible and modern science is in the realm of neurobiology and genetics. We *KNOW* that humans are not sinners — there was no “Adam” who fell “in space-time history”, as Francis Schaeffer put it. Human behavior is not driven by a “sin nature” but by an evolved psychology — we are risen apes, not fallen angels. This is a critical distinction, as it demonstrates the foundations of orthodox Christian belief is unfounded. We do not need God to redeem us through Jesus.

    It would be good for Ben to address this issue, as it has important implications for how we help people — pastorally — to live lives that are grounded in a realistic understanding of what it means to be human.
