For the first time since the early 70s, Rogue Community College is making a foray into intercollegiate athletics. The Grants Pass-based college, that also has a Medford campus is launching a men's and women's soccer program. Tryouts are being held for eligible players. Athletes must be full-time students enrolled for Fall Quarter at RCC. Students attending at either campus may participate. Students interested in learning more may either log on to roguecc.edu. At the home page, you will see a soccer ball towards the lower left-hand corner. They may also call (541) 659-3118. John Timlin is serving as head coach. Soccer will be offered as a club sport initially, though assistant coach Mike Lindsay says the plan is to eventually join the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges.
