One of the University of Oregon's most prolific receivers is being re-united with the coach that was a catalyst in the success. The Philadelphia Eagles acquired Jeffrey Maehl in a trade with the Houston Texans in exchange for LB Nate Menkin. Since entering the NFL, the northern Californian has mainly served ofn the Texans practice squad, caught in a logjam of wideouts, including the likes of Andre Johnson. In Philadelphia, the Eagles are already without the services of Jeremy Maclin and Arrelious Benn for the season. DeSean Jackson, Riley Cooper, Jason Avant, and Damaris Johnson are all vying for touches in their absent. Eagles coach Chip Kelly says with Maehl, he is getting a player he "knows very well." Kelly envisions the one-time defensive back as a contributor on special teams as well.
