BREAKING NEWS: Sunset Puts The Clamps on South Medford Boys

The Sunset Apollos put the clamps on South Medford defensively, limiting the Panthers to just three points in the third quarter and 35-percent shooting for the game as Sunset eliminated South Medford 61-55 in consolation bracket action this morning at the Oregon State Class 6-A basketball tournament. Sunset also blocked six South Medford field goal attempts. Joe McFerrin and Tyler Gutierrez led the Apollos with 15 points apiece. Adrian Garcia led South Medford with 18 points on 7 for 15 shooting. Mark Winans added 12 on 4 of 10 shooting, and Jesse Mondry chipped in 9 on 2 of 6 shooting. South Medford's season ends with a 21-7 record. Sunset raises their record to 18-11. The Apollos will play Southridge for 4th place Friday morning at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland.
