Coach Adelman Returns To Timberwolves

By Jim McCoy Mon 28th January SportsNBARick Adelman
A person with knowledge of the situation says coach Rick Adelman, a former Portland Trail Blazer player and coach, has returned to the Minnesota Timberwolves after spending the last three weeks with his ailing wife. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to The Associated Press because Adelman had yet to publicly address the situation. Adelman returned Monday morning before the team practiced. He is hoping to coach against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night if all is OK with his wife, Mary Kay. She was hospitalized with an undisclosed ailment. Adelman has missed the last 11 games. The first was Jan. 8, a home victory over the Atlanta Hawks. He returned for a brief meeting with the team Jan. 16. The Wolves have gone 2-9 under assistant Terry Porter, who also once had ties to the Portland organization.
