A Weekend Southern Oregon Search Crews Won't Soon Forget

It was a weekend to remember for search and rescue crews from Jackson, Klamath, Siskiyou and Josephine counties. Over 50 volunteers set out to find three groups of hikers who had all become lost. All were found alive and uninjured. The sheriff’s department is reminding hikers to allow five hours to hike the mountain, to be sure to call 9-1-1 immediately if you’re lost and stay put.Read More »

Fortifying Search Efforts For Missing Teen Hikers

More searchers are converging on the foothills of the Cascade Range south of Portland looking for two teenagers who went for a day hike and are missing after two nights of wet, windy weather. Deputy Nate Thompson of the Clackamas County sheriff's office said Monday the two are Boy Scouts experienced in the outdoors, but authorities don't know what kind of gear they took.Read More »

Rainie Falls Search Called Off

The search for a 19-year old man who fell into the Rogue River at Rainie Falls 20 miles outside of Merlin Saturday afternoon has been called off. Sheriff’s deputies searched by raft, and a private plane also combed the area from overhead, but were unable to find Joshua Eddy.Read More »
