Oregon Highway 230 between Union Creek and Diamond Lake (mile point 0-23) is expected to reopen by late afternoon today. It's been closed since Sunday, after heavy, wet snow toppled more than 25 large trees onto the roadway. ODOT has just announced at 12:14 p.m. that I-5 South has been re-opened to truck traffic. Weather conditions has earlier prompted a request by Caltrans to halt the flow of traffic between Yreka and Redding due to the hazardous weather conditions. Motorists are advised to use caution.

This notice came in from the Southwest Division of ODT: "Due to severe winter weather in northern California between Yreka and Redding, all commerical trucks are being stopped at Ashland (exit 11).
