Medford Teen Awarded For Saving Swimmer

An 18-year old Medford teen has been honored for pulling a drowning swimmer from Lost Creek Lake July 23rd. The Oregon State Sheriff’s Association says the swimmer would have died if not for Dillon Huntley. Fire Crew Rescuing Logger Who Fell 450 Feet

A logger who fell over 450 down an embankment near Hinkle Gulch is being rescued. The Applegate Fire Department, ODF and Jackson County Fire District 5 are working together to pull him to safety. The steep terrain is making for a "slow and steady" rescue effort. An Applegate Fire Department spokesman tells the Medford Mail Tribune that the logger is conscious and speaking with rescuers.

Lost Boys Found

Authorities say three boys searching for adventure and old gold mines wandered away from their camp along the Rogue River and were lost six hours.

     The Josephine County sheriff's office says search and rescue personnel turned out Sunday to look for the boys, ages 5, 8 and 13.Read More »
