Over 2,600 Shady Cove Area Residents Without Power, Lightning Blamed

A lightning strike around 10 p.m. Monday night resulted in the loss of power to 2,650 Pacific Power customers in the Shady Cove area and the closure today of Shady Cove School. TheDove TV has learned from Monte Mendenhall at Pacific Power, that power should be restored by 12:30 p.m. today to the 2,479 customers affected by this morning's power outage. A downed line at the Stevens Road substation is responsible for the outage that occurred at 8:59 a.m. As a result of the outage, students at Eagle Point High School were sent home.Read More »
