The AAA auto club reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon is $3.98. That's up 2 cents in a week and 9 cents in a month. It's 21 cents higher than a year ago and 30 cents higher than the current national average. Some metro prices from Monday's AAA survey: Portland $3.96, Salem $3.97, Eugene-Springfield $4.03, Medford-Ashland $4.03.

Gas Prices Uptick In Oregon, Nation

The latest survey of gas prices by AAA show a slight increase just one week into the summer season. The national average is $3.67 for a gallon of regular unleaded, compared to $3.90 in Oregon. Geopolitical problems, refinery disruptions, or a severe hurricane season could quickly send gas prices higher.
