About 1,100 customers in the Rogue River area will be without electricity during the late morning of Thursday, July 10 to allow crews to safely remove a tree that poses a hazard to an overhead electrical line.
The outage is expected to begin at 9 a.m. and last until 12 noon on Thursday, July 10. The area affected is from 4425 East Evans Creek Road. to Queens Branch Road in Rogue River. Pacific Power is coordinating with Jackson County to assist with traffic control.
"This work is needed to ensure the continued reliability of our local electrical system and we have to take some customers briefly out of service to ensure the safety of our crews," said Monte Mendenhall, Pacific Power regional community manager. "It just makes sense, better to take care of this problem now, than everyone having to deal with it when the weather gets bad. Our customers tend to understand and appreciate that. We are coordinating the timing and work with our customers and local authorities to minimize the service disruption as much as possible."
Customers with questions about the planned outage can call Pacific Power at 1-888-221-7070 for assistance. Any outages during that time in other parts of the community area should still to be reported to Pacific Power at 1-877-508-5088.
