County Unemployment Rates Around Southern Oregon Lower

In spite of seasonal job losses, the county employment picture across southern Oregon looks better in a year-over-year comparison. Jackson County’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 8.9 percent, compared to 10.4 percent in 2013. Josephine County’s rate of 9.7 percent reflected a near two percent improvement compared to 12 months earlier. On the coast, Coos County is at 9.0, and Curry County is at 10.1 percent unemployment.
