The National Weather Service says much-needed snow is forecast for the Cascades and Siskiyous in Southern Oregon. If all goes as forecasted, the snow will start falling this afternoon, and could reach as low as 2,500 feet. Snow is not expected to be heavy at Mt. Ashland or the Siskiyou Summit. The heaviest snow is expected north of Mt.McLaughlin, and high winds could affect travel along highways 140, 62, 230 and 138 headed towards Central and South Central Oregon. A high wind warning will be in effect for Klamath County from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.
