Suspect Who Died During Burglary Identified

The Oregon State Police have released the name of a Grants Pass man who died during the course of a botched burglary. 33-year old Jasen Robert Lewis died shortly after a scuffle ensued when a Woodworx LLC employee caught Lewis allegedly trying break in when he arrived for work Tuesday morning. When the employee's father- who had dropped his son off for work- noticed the struggle, he assisted in subduing Lewis. Police were called,and shortly thereafter, Lewis stopped breathing. CPR was administered. By the time medical personnel had arrived, Lewis was already dead. Lewis was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear- Dangerous Drugs of Josephine County Circuit Court dated January 13, 2014. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
