The public has more time to comment on plans for an oil terminal at the Port of Vancouver.
The state Energy Facility Site Evaluation Council had planned to wrap up comment on the scope of an environmental impact statement on Nov. 18.
The Columbian reports (http://bit.ly/1iZMnHI) the period has been extended to Dec. 18. It will include a public meeting on Dec. 11 at the Center Place Regional Event Center in Spokane Valley.
The council will make a recommendation to Washington Gov. Jay Inslee who will decide whether to give state approval. The terminal would take oil arriving from North Dakota in railroad tankers and ship it to West Coast refineries.
