Cell Phone Violation Leads To Pot Bust

By Jim McCoy Thu 3rd October Newspot bust
A man stopped by police for talking on his cellphone while driving has been indicted on charges of selling marijuana. The Grants Pass Daily Courier (http://bit.ly/1dY6YLZ ) reported Thursday that 34-year-old Praise Williams of Merlin, a registered medical marijuana grower, was pulled over in Grants Pass in August. Police found several pounds of marijuana, hashish and a portable washing machine apparently used to make hashish. They also found $1,300, which Williams told police was to pay his power bill. In another case, a Cave Junction medical marijuana grower, Scott F. Pope, has been convicted of selling the drug. He was sentenced last week to 20 days in jail and two years of probation.
