OSU Steps Up Security After Online Threat

By Jim McCoy Fri 27th September NewsOregon St. Universityschool securitythreat
The State Police say more officers will be at Oregon State University as a result of an online threat "directed at the campus." In a statement, the police didn't describe the nature of the threat. They said it appeared to have originated outside the Northwest and didn't mention a person or campus location. The police said officers from state and local agencies, in uniform and in plainclothes, will be on campus to monitor activities as new students arrive for orientation. Classes begin next week. An alert went out to students Thursday after authorities learned of the threat.
