A meeting will be held tonight (Wednesday August 14th) at Tiller School in relation to the fires in the Whiskey Complex- six miles east of Tiller. Among other topics, defensible space and preparedness will be discussed.
The fires in the complex have burned 11,471 acres as of this morning. It stands at 55-percent containment. The Smith Ridge and Buckeye Fires within the complex are fully contained, but remain on "patrol" status.
Today's focus is on reinforcing containment lines on the east and southeast flanks of the Whiskey Fire. Of concern is the warming and drying trend, which is anticipated through Thursday. 558 firefighters are at work on the fires.
