Agriculture Vote

By admin Tue 13th August News
The number of towns in Southern Oregon to vote on a tax increase is growing as a deadline looms at the end of the year. Funding for the Garden Extension service outside Jacksonville ends as the new year begins in January and Ashland is the latest town to vote on a increase in taxes to keep the garden and 4-H programs going. So far six of the 11-Towns will vote on the proposal in November. Extension service director Phil VanBuskirk says those are only the first funding hurdles. Competition for those tax dollars is expected to be hard fought as historical societies and library's are also looking for increased tax funding.
