Ashland Bag Ban

It may take a while, but int appears Ashland could become the fourth town in Oregon to adopt a plan to ban plastic bags. The Ashland City Council has voted to study a ban on plastic shopping bags in town partly to reduce debris in landfills and what has been seen as a floating plastic island off the coast. Councilwoman Carol Voisin predicts it will pas because it aligns with part of the Charter of the Town. If approved by the council, Ashland would join Portland, Corvallis and Eugene in banning plastic bags being used as shopping bags in town stores
