The Medford Chamber of Commerce is billing tomorrow's annual “Red, White & Boom” 4th of July celebration as the largest fireworks show in Southern Oregon history, along with live music from five music acts, food and refreshments, special patriotic presentations and more. This year's event is free to attend and being held at the Lithia Motors Amphitheater at The Expo in Central Point.
Once again, there will be live music with guitarist/vocalist Jeff Kloetzel, who won Southern Oregon’s 2012 Rising Stars Music Competition. Ruch native Ryan Vosika,with partner Banditos Yanquis and the duo performs classic stylings with modern instruments.
Bands performing include The Purple Heart Band, 2nd Amendment, and Gathering Pool. Other activities include a special veteran’s recognition, including a video highlighting the lives and careers of two local veterans – one from World War II, and one from Vietnam.
Gates open at 5 p.m., the show begins at 5:30 p.m., and the fireworks display begins at 10 p.m. Seating and parking is on a first come, first served basis so attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
Red, White and Boom is presented this year by Red Robin Restaurant, The Chamber of Medford/Jackson County, and the City of Central Point. All activities are free.
"We’ve got a great lineup of talented singers and music acts this year that promise to make Red, White and Boom even better – it’s like a mini-music festival for free. Plus, our patriotic portion of the show is over the top so we’re very excited,” said Brad Hicks, Chamber of Medford/Jackson County President & CEO. "Red, White and Boom is an old-fashioned family-friendly event celebrating our nation’s holiday and bringing the entire community together for a fun time.”
Barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs,and drinks will be available at the concessions.
