Low Visibility Hampering Search For Mt. Hood Climber

An organizer says low visibility is hampering the search for a climber lost on Mount Hood. On Sunday, searchers followed the route a Salem man had planned to take to the summit the day before, but they didn't find a trace of him. On Monday, the searchers were combing lower elevations because of conditions that Steve Rollins of Portland Mountain Rescue described as approaching a white-out. The family of 59-year-old Kinley Adams reported him missing Saturday night. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office says his vehicle was found parked at Timberline Lodge. Adams, a dentist, is described as an experienced climber. Kelli Watcherson, the office manager at Adams' dental practice, says everyone's focus is on bringing him home as soon as possible.
