A Medford man successfully defeated two homeless men who tried to attack him Sunday morning. 35-year old John "Brandon" Shawnego made a video and posted it to YouTube of the fight's outcome. Shawnego was walking to church when 22-year old Cameron Manning asked him for a cigarette. When he said he didn't have any, Manning reportedly began yelling at Shawnego. Saying he didn't want to be rude, Shawnego turned around and walked back towards Manning. 42-year old John Miyazaki came alongside Manning with a beer in his hands. When Shawnego asked if Miyazaki was going to hit him with it, Miyazaki popped the can open, took a swig and said he and Manning were going to assault him. Shawnego set down a back pack containing Father's Day gifts from his children, and Miyazaki tried to take it. Shawnego landed a punch against Miyazaki that knocked him down. When Manning tried to strike the would-be victim, Shawnego knocked him down with a punch. In the video, Shawnego offers a hand up, and both men stagger away. According to a report in the Mail Tribune, Shawnego will face no charges, saying he was defending himself. Miyazaki was not jailed, but Manning is on a prior charge.
