School board candidates viewed as supportive of Medford School Superintendent Phil Long were elected to the board. Incumbent Jeff Thomas won comfortably, while Marcia Prendergrast retained her seat, holding off three challengers.
For position two, incumbent Paulie Brading- a critic of Long- was defeated by Larry Nicholson, who returns to the board.
In Eagle Point, candidates considered to be pro-administration candidates: longtime school board veteran Scott Grissom achieved vctory, as well as Dan Hodges and Dianne Mihocko. Grissonm says he is looking forward to working with a fresh board, and superintendent Cynda Rickert is hopeful this will begin a new chapter in the district.
In Central Point, Jolee Wallace, Ed Lindbloom and Bret Moore were re-elected. Challenger Tracy Jackson unseated incumbent June Brock.
In Phoenix-Talent, incumbents Craig Prewitt and Marina Piacentinit won their re-election bid. Challenger Debra McAlister defeated incumbent Nathan Shinn. Ruth Staten wins a position on the board as another new face. Dawn Watson was leading incumbent Laura Lotspiech in a close race.
