Over 2,600 Shady Cove Area Residents Without Power, Lightning Blamed

A lightning strike around 10 p.m. Monday night resulted in the loss of power to 2,650 Pacific Power customers in the Shady Cove area and the closure today of Shady Cove School. The strike hit two distribution lines near Lost Creek Lake. Power is expected to be restored to all but 82 customers in the Lewis Road area, east of Stewart State Park this morning. Those customers won’t get their power back until around 3 p.m.
