A 25-year-old Coos Bay woman working on riverbank restoration projects has drowned in the Coquille River. The World newspaper of Coos Bay (http://bit.ly/ZA0FED ) reports that rescue workers found Kristle Volin trapped underwater Tuesday after her boat hit a tree, capsized and snagged her life vest. She was program manager for the Coquille Watershed Association and was working with an Oregon Fish and Wildlife employee, who was in a separate boat. They were identifying areas on the south fork of the river for potential restoration projects. ---
