A second suspect in the February 5th La Placita burglary was arrested Tuesday. Medford Police received a tip that 30-year old Daniel Ballard was riding on an RVTD bus headed down Riverside Avenue. Authorities stopped the bus near Ohio, but Ballard managed to escape, grabbing his bicycle from the front of the bus and fleeing. A taser was fire, but was ineffective. Ballard was eventually caught and arrested on Berrydale Avenue.
23-year old Joshua Massey was cited and released for his involvement in the break-in on February when authorities recovered some of the stolen items during the search of a home on Columbus Avenue. In that search about 2-thousand dollars in stolen goods were recovered. Police say about 11-thousand worth of phones, electronics, watches and jewelry were taken in the heist.
Back on January 17th, Medford Police Lt. Mike Budreau says Ballard ran from the Jackson County Transition Center and had several warrants for his arrest.
