An estimated 28-thousand unemployed Oregonians will see a change in the amount of federal money they receive at the end of March. The Oregon Employment Department says this is due to the recent sequester of federal funding.
Those receiving Federal Unemployment Emergency Compensation will experience a 10.7 percent reduction in compensation. Notification letters will go out in early April. There's an online calculator beneficiaries may use to find out how much of a reduction in funds they will receive by visiting www.workinginoregon.org.
People receiving regular unemployment compensation will not be affected.
