Just hours after fighting a big fire at a home on North Valley View Road near Ashland, firefighters once again found themselves fighting flames at the same residence early this morning. District 5 Fire Chief Dan Marshall says that all the second fire did was burn up some remaining fuels. The first fire destroyed a two-story, 3,500 square foot home on Wednesday. One of the home’s residents said he was filling butane lighters and heating oil on a stove in the basement when the first fire broke out. Investigators have not yet listed any official cause for the first fire. It is thought the second fire may have been caused by winds fueling smoldering materials.
