"Uniting For Justice" Rally Friday Evening in Grants Pass

An organization calling itself "Securing Our Safety" is holding a community event they are calling "Uniting For Safety" in Grants Pass this evening at 5:15 p.m. about efforts to restore criminal justice services in Josephine County. The public event will be held at the Juvenile Justice Center. At the event will a moment of silence and a candlelight vigil to honor those who have been victims of violent crime- weather permitting. Saecuring Our Safety says their aim is to create "a citizen-voiced plan to provide a secure, stable and sustainable Josephine County." Josephine County voters rejected a tax levy in May's election, and drastic cuts have been made at the Josephine County Sheriff's department.
