Morning Fire Quickly Extinguished at Erickson Air Crane

Firefighters from Jackson County Fire District Three and Medford Fire and Rescue quickly put down a fire reported at 4:40 a.m. today at Erickson Air Crane. Security personnel were the only employees at the scene at the time of its start and made the emergency call. Crews are saying the blaze started when an air compressor caught fire. Firefighters are investigating the cause. The high winds proved not to be a problem as crews kept the fire from spreading to nearby chemicals for cleaning parts.
