It's time to hit the slopes at Mount Ashland. The ski season officially opens today with a snow base of 27-inches and 55-inches at the top. Workers have been putting last minute final touches at the lodge and on the slopes for skiers coming for the season. Mount Ashland's Rick Saul says the snow has a lot of moisture content which should make it good for skiing along with an earlier opening than normal. Saul says the possibility of new snow coming in over the weekend should make conditions even better, and they plan on operating five days a week instead of the normal three days leading up to Christmas.
