Crews in southwest Oregon are clearing forest roads hit by a spate of storms.The Medford Mail Tribune reports small slides, downed trees and plugged culverts have closed a few roads. The Forest Service says people driving in the woods should be careful and be mindful that the snow level is expected to fall.
A series of storms have left authorities warning about the possibility of landslides and debris flows in western Oregon. The state Department of Transportation said a slide of up to 100 cubic feet impeded traffic at the St. Johns Bridge Wednesday morning in Portland.
East of the Cascade Range, explanations ranged from faulty construction to rainfall for a levee that gave way Sunday and spilled water into farmland along Lake Ewauna at Klamath Falls.
