Oregon Stays "Blue"
Democrats have retained their grip on all of Oregon's partisan statewide offices and chose President Barack Obama for a second time. Voters returned all five incumbent congressmen - four Democrats and Republican Greg Walden - to Washington.
In the state Legislature, Democrats were on track to retake control of the state House after two years of a 30-30 split, and they appeared likely to maintain their 16-14 edge in the state Senate.
The Democratic victories came despite exit polls that showed Oregonians are generally not happy with the state of affairs. Roughly a quarter of voters said they are better off today than four years ago, while about one-third said they are worse off. Almost 6 in 10 Oregon voters said the economy was the top issue facing the nation.
