The Milwaukie City Council passed a resolution opposing coal trains through the city. The resolution approved Tuesday also calls for a review of the health and environmental impacts of exporting coal through any Northwest port.
The Oregonian reports the resolution did not single out the proposed Coos Bay terminal, which would involve Union Pacific tracks in the city.
Coos Bay is one of five ports in Oregon and Washington where terminals have been proposed to ship Montana and Wyoming coal to Asia.
