Six More Low-Income Families To Get Ashland Homes From ACCESS

By next summer, housing for six more Ashland families will be in place in the Hyde Park complex by way of ACCESS. Three one-bedroom units, two three-bedroom units and one two-bedroom unit will be built.

ACCESS purchased the land in 2011 with funding from the City of Ashland. ACCESS received construction funding from Oregon Housing and Community Services and the Consolidated Funding Cycle.Jerome White is architect for the complex. John Fields will oversee construction.

According to an ACCESS press release, 19.6 percent of Ashland residents live in poverty. A 2007 study by Ferranini and Associates concluded that 74 units a year would need to be constructed meet the needs od the population.
