Applegate Grass Fire Burns 24 Acres

A grass fire at 5577 Little Applegate Road torched 24 acres at around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday. Nearly 40 firefighters were called to the scene from Applegate Fire District #9 and the Oregon Department of Forestry. By 9 p.m., spokesperson Ashley Du Bray reports the fire was 99 percent dozer lined.

Mop up crews were at work by Thursday morning. No one was injured and no homes were threatened. The fire’s cause is under investigation.
