Groundbreaking For Ashland Fire Station 2
A groundbreaking was held this morning for the Ashland Fire Station 2. The 10,478 square foot facility will be built on the existing site. Ashland Fire and Rescue officials say the new facility has been designed to meet LEED Silver Standards and include sustainable features such as water permeable concrete and pavers, a rooftop photo voltaic system, solar water heating, operable windows and a groundwater swale.
Funding for the project comes from a bond passed by Ashland voters in May of 2011.
