Eagle Point School District Talks to Resume Thursday
Bargaining teams are taking the day off and resume talks tomorrow in the Eagle Point School District 9 strike. A spokesperson for the district reports that by the time talks recessed Tuesday, progress had been made. Both sides reportedly agreed on the district’s $4.3 million dollar employee compensation plan and a compromise on subcontracting that would keep the district from subcontracting through December, 2013.
The two issues are struggling to reach common ground with regard instructional time and linking insurance to hours worked.
If the strike continues, schools will re-open Monday. Details are available on the district website, www.eaglepnt.k12.us.
