Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event
Jackson County residents will once again have opportunity to drop off household hazardous waste Friday and Saturday this week at the Rogue Transfer and Recycling Station at 8001 Table Rock Road in White City. The $5-per vehicle cost covers up to a cubic yard of waste.
Items they will accept include: cleaning supplies, old pesticides, swimming pool chemicals, weed killers, old or toxic wood preservatives, batteries, and thermostats including mercury. Unacceptable items include fluorescent light tubes, medical or biological waste, asbestos, propane tanks, metal canisters, or fire extinguishers.
Household paint is also no longer being accepted. Visit paintcare.org for more information about where old paint will be accepted.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
