Crater Lake Rim Drive opens for the season

By Steve Best Tue 26th July Mornings on theDoveNewsCrater Lake

There’s some good news for those wanting to experience everything that Crater Lake has to offer. Steve Best has the details:
Crater Lake National Park has announced that the entire 33-mile rim drive around the lake is now open for the season. Also open are all facilities and services including the 16-site Lost Creek campground.
Access to the lakeshore for fishing and swimming is limited this year, due to essential construction work, and although boat tours have begun for the season, park authorities warn that access to the tour boat dock is down a series of very steep stairs, so they urge extreme caution.
Officials also want that most trails still have a covering of snow and downed trees and branches at present, so caution there is also necessary.
