Medford Police are continuing their investigation of an alleged drive-by shooting on Benson Street near Dakota Avenue. Police received the call Tuesday night at 8:17 p.m. The suspects were gone when police arrived. Witnesses reported the suspects arrived in a vehicle, stopped, and fired three shots before leaving in the same vehicle. Bullet casings were recovered.Read More »

Police Believe East Medford Burglaries Related

A burglary that was reported in the 4700 block of Cloudcrest Drive in Medford on Monday afternoon. The investigation led authorities to conclude the crime occurred while the homeowners were at home asleep the night before, at about the same time that two break ins occurred in the 6000 block of Hillcrest Road. Appeals Court Lets Medford Police Keep Lottery Winnings

The Oregon Court of Appeals has ruled that the Medford Police Department can collect a $1 million cash prize originally awarded to a woman who purchased a scratch ticket through illegal means in 2005. The Mail Tribune reports that 45-year-old Christina Elizabeth Goodenow argues that it was excessive punishment to strip her of the $1 million in winnings.
