Hunters May Find A Number of Private Lands Locked Up

Hunters heading out Saturday on the opening day of deer season in Oregon will find locked gates at the entrances to most private timberlands in the state because of the wildfire danger. The director of forest protection for the Oregon Forest Industries Council, Mike Dykzeul, told the Statesman Journal about 50 percent more member acres are closed this year due to dry conditions.Read More »

Klamath Falls Man Arrested for Illegally Hunting Bear

An 8-month investigation by the Oregon State Police related to illegal bear hunting has led to the arrest of a 30-year old Klamath Falls man. 30-year old Trevor Harris was arrested earlier this week, allegedly hunting from a tree stand over baited barrels near Keno. Most of the charges filed are misdemeanors, but Harris could lose his right to hunt.
