University of Oregon's Proposed Student Health Care Plan Halted

The University of Oregon's proposal to launch a self-funded health care plan for students has been put on hold as members of the school's Board of Trustees deemed the proposal risky and complicated.

The Register-Guard reports ( ) the university halted the UOCare plan Wednesday amid the board's skepticism and plans to launch the program next year.

New VA Outpatient Clinic Open In Grants Pass

The new Veteran’s Affairs Outpatient Clinic in Grants Pass is now able to serve veterans in the Josephine County area. The new facility is three times the size of the old outreach clinic, and also offers a variety of new services such as immunizations, a medical lab and electrocardiogram. The new veteran’s outpatient clinic is located at 1877 Redwood Highway, and is open Monday through Friday.

Cover Oregon Says 7 Thousand Enrolled

The number released Monday is a significant increase over the 730 people who'd been enrolled a week ago.
