Six Die In Holiday Weekend Crashes Around Oregon

The Oregon State Police says six people died in traffic crashes during the Labor Day weekend, statistically similar to past years. Since 1970, Oregon has averaged seven fatalities during Labor Day weekends. The deadliest was in 1978, when 17 people were killed. Motorcycle Crash Victim Identified

The identity of the motorcycle rider who was killed in a accident on Beebe Road in Central Point Sunday has been revealed. Police say 30-year old Jessie Lee Boyd was traveling west at a high rate of speed when he lost control and was thrown from his Kawasaki into the path of a pick-up truck at around 11:05 a.m. Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene.
