The public will have the opportunity Saturday in Medford and Grants Pass to safely dispose of unused prescription drugs. The aim is to get rid of the medicines in an environmentally safe way, and prevent pill abuse. In Medford the drug “take back” event will be held from 10 to 2 at Medford City Hall. Over 300 pounds in unused prescription drugs were collected by the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety last Saturday. Drug take back campaigns are performed to keep contaminants out of the water system, and to keep the drugs away from those who do not have a prescription. A drug take box is kept in the lobby of the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety for those who missed the event.Read More »
