DHS: Sexual Abuse Suspect Not Affiliated With Us
A district manager for the Department of Human Services says a 23-year-old man accused of sexually abusing two girls under his case is not affiliated with the agency. Doug Mares denied claims that the suspect - Mark Tabor - was in the home because DHS approved and cleared him to supervise visits between the young Medford teens and their father.
An attorney representing the girls told the Medford Mail Tribune that the girls' mother told him that Tabor was in the home with DHS approval. But Mares says the young man is not an employee or any kind of volunteer with the agency.
Tabor has been charged with sexual abuse in the Aug. 11 incident. Hours later, Tabor was himself allegedly attacked in retaliation for the suspected sexual assault.
