Section of Highway 101 Remains Closed
The Oregon Department of Transportation reports that Highway 101 11 miles south of Port Orford is still blocked by a lanslide. About 400 yards of debris make up the slide. They say the slide remains active due to saturated soils. Because of safety concerns, clean up won't begin until it becomes more stable.
Southbound traffic is being stopped at Port Orford, northbound traffic at Nesika Beach. Motorists are advised to use Oregon 42, Interstate 5 and Highway 199.
