Friend of Victim Held in Eagle Point Shooting

An Eagle Point man is dead, and another is in custody this morning (Thursday) after a shooting incident at their residence. At 12:40 p.m. yesterday, police responded to a reported suicide on North Buchanan in Eagle Point, and upon arrival, they found 24-year old Joseph Faaeteete dead in the garage. Based on conflicting witness accounts, an investigation was launched- and 26-year old Dylan Ashmun- Faaeteete's roommate- was taken into custody. Multiple weapons, drugs and drug paraphernalia were also found in the home. Ashmun is being charged with First Degree Manslaughter and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
